Kintsugi

HOPE

Kintsugi is the Japanese art of mending broken pottery with gold. The gold isn't hidden but celebrated – and the object becomes more beautiful and unique.

Kintsugi seeks to find treasure in life's scars.

Interested in attending a wellbeing course?

Kintsugi Hope Wellbeing Groups aim to create safe and supportive spaces for those who wish to explore and invest in their mental and emotional wellbeing. In this space, there is no shame or embarrassment for those struggling with mental or emotional challenges.

This runs as a 10-week course for adults and 6-weeks for young people in schools and colleges.

The group helped me, because I usually stay in my room, but now I interact with people.

Kintsugi Hope in Secondary Schools & Colleges

As part of Andover Parish’s commitment to helping young people invest in their mental and emotional wellbeing, we offer Kintsugi Hope Youth Wellbeing Groups to colleges and schools.

These courses consist of 6-7 weeks of content on subjects such as honesty, self-acceptance, depression, anxiety, anger and shame. Although these can be difficult subjects, they are presented in a safe and accessible way, allowing young people to learn and understand about what is normal, and when to seek further help. The sessions are run in a safe and supportive setting with all the necessary safeguarding in place.

I feel like now there is a light at the end of the tunnel [...] I didn't think I would get through, but now I feel like I've got some strategies I can use to cope.

I didn't want the group to end.
